by Rachel Parr, B.S., Dietetic Intern Farmers Markets are great for many reasons. Of course, they are a great source for fresh, affordable produce that's in season. What I found interesting was the diversity between the markets here and my hometown (only 5 hours south of CP). Many fruits and vegetables are native in Maryland that aren't commonly found in other areas of the country. Going to a Farmers Market is the best way to learn about the produce available locally.
