Current Student Nutritionists
Elise Roen
I am a junior Nutrition & Dietetics major at the University of Maryland in College Park. I have always been passionate about healthy eating, but never thought of it as a career until applying to college. I think Nutrition plays a role in our lives more than we may realize, and that there is no size fits all- everyone's journey with Nutrition is so different which I love! In my free time, I love going out to eat, exploring (especially in DC), skiing, and coffee.

Zeze TourkyI'm a sophmore studying Dietetics at the University of Maryland, College Park. I believe nutrition is the key to maintaining an overall health lifestyle. I'm interested in focusing on nutrition as it relates more to the health and medicine world, because I don't believe it's paid attention to as much. Overall, I like to live by listening to yourself and your body ALWAYS! Some things I like to do in my free time include staying active (I'm a cycling instructor), baking, and hanging out with my friends.

Alison EmbreyI'm a freshman studying Dietetics at the University of Maryland, College Park. I've had an interest in nutrition for as long as I can remember, and I believe it is one of the most important aspects to one's overall physical and emotional wellbeing. I'm interested in sports nutrition, and how the rise of popularity in supplements can cause potentially harmful effects to athletes. I think it is important for everyone to be aware of what they are putting in their body, and how they can use nutrition to create a happy and healthy lifestyle. Some of my interests outside of school include weightlifting, playing tennis, and learning about new foods and recipes.

When it comes to nutrition, I believe that food is more than fuel--it's tradition, culture, medicine, and so much more! In my free time, you can find me baking nutritious (and not-so-nutritious) treats, biking, playing with my cats, or exploring new places. After graduation, I plan to attend PA school.

I am a graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park after working as a student nutritionist from 2016-2018. When it comes to nutrition I believe that it really shouldn't be difficult. People should eat when they're hungry and when they do eat, try to make healthful choices. I have the world's biggest sweet tooth and enjoy baking cookies, cupcakes, and pumpkin bread. I am a graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park with a BS in Dietetics. I worked as a Student Nutritionist for 2 years and loved spreading nutrition information and a love for food across campus. I believe that the healthiest way to eat is the way that makes a person feel stronger in body and mind. I believe no meal is complete without pasta and my favorite movie theater snacks are popcorn and M&M's. After UMD I was enrolled in the Virginia Tech Dietetic Internship program, and now I am a Clinical Dietitian at Inova Health System!
