Prep the Night BeforePrepping breakfast the night before is a great way to make early mornings a little less busy. Here are some ideas you can prep and throw in the fridge for the morning: - Overnight Oats: Combine 1/2c oats, 1/2c milk of choice, 1/4c Greek yogurt, 1 tbsp. chia seeds and 1 tbsp. of sweetener of choice and store in fridge overnight. Serve with choice of toppings in the morning - Breakfast Egg Muffins: These are great to prep at the beginning of the week and keep on hand. This recipe offers 3 flavor combos: Tomato Spinach Mozzarella, Bacon Cheddar, and Mushroom Garlic - Smoothie Bags: Choose your favorite smoothie recipe, such as this Blueberry Banana Smoothie, and place ingredients in a zip-lock bag overnight. Then, add milk in the morning and blend! Easy Breakfasts for the MorningThese breakfasts will only take up to 10 minutes, and may even be worth setting your alarm a little earlier so you have time for a filling and satisfying breakfast: - Scrambled Eggs: served with fruit, turkey bacon, and/or whole grain toast. You can also throw in some veggies when cooking the eggs! - English Muffin Sandwich: Toast a whole-grain English Muffin, then add your choice of ham/turkey and cheese and microwave. Add a side of fruit for a balanced breakfast - Yogurt Parfait: Layer yogurt with fresh or frozen fruit, and top with some granola and honey If You Hit Snooze...Every once and a while, it happens where you hit snooze a few too many times, or didn't set an alarm the night before and end up frantically trying to get out the door on time. But, it is still important to eat breakfast!! Some options that take less than 2 minutes are:
- Instant Oatmeal: Look for varieties without added sugar and just add boiling water. Stir in your choice of toppings, such as dried cranberries and almonds - 30-second Smoothie: Blend your choice of milk, frozen strawberries and a banana for a quick smoothie to enjoy with a side of toast - Peanut Butter and Banana Combo: This is a great choice to eat on your way out the door. If you are a 'chronic alarm snoozer', keep some peanut butter packets ready to go Source: https://www.eatright.org/food/planning/meals-and-snacks/6-tips-for-better-breakfasts
