In honor of the first week of National Nutrition Month at UMD, we are going to express the importance of nutrition in aiding the maintenance and formation of healthy bones. It's important to remember that food contains the nutrients that support how well our body can function. Calcium, vitamin D, vitamin K, magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus are key nutrients in bone health. Dairy products, leafy greens, salmon, almonds, and tofu are food sources you need to add in your diet to incorporate these nutrients. Milk is one of the most commonly consumed dairy products, due to its versatility of use and nutrient density.
