By learning about a different nutrient-category each week, we can become balanced-plate experts by the end of the month! This week's theme is "Go With the Grain," where we will be highlighting the importance of incorporating whole grains, such as oats, into the diet.

Types of OatsDid you you know there are 8 different forms of oats you can choose from? All forms of oats contain similar health and nutrient benefits. However, according to the Harvard Nutrition Source, the less processed the oat, the lower glycemic index. This means your blood sugar will have less of a spike after eating steel-cut oats as opposed to quick oats. The more you know!
