Why Not Eat the Same Thing?Variety is key in providing the body with lots of different nutrients and phytonutrients every day. Nutrient: a substance that provides nourishment essential for growth and the maintenance of life Phytonutrient: a substance found in certain plants which is believed to be beneficial to human health and help prevent various diseases. Some key nutrients in fruits and vegetables include Calcium, Fiber, Iron, Magnesium, Potassium, and a variety of Vitamins. But, not every fruit and vegetables is high in all of these nutrients. For example, spinach is very high in Magnesium which is essential for healthy bones. Kale, on the other hand, is high in Vitamin A, which helps with immunity, skin, and vision, as well as Vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant.
