It is also important to recognize that this holiday season is a time of remembrance and grieving for mass genocides and loss of Native land, especially surrounding Thanksgiving. Therefore, National Native American Heritage Month gives us a way to honor and educate ourselves about Indigenous heritage, and current Native communities across the United States. Here are a few ways that the Food Corps recommends you can actively get involved in celebrating Native American heritage:
