By Kelsey Felter, Dietetic Intern On college campuses, in morning households, in business meetings or really anytime of day, it seems people’s beverage of choice usually is coffee. As a coffee addict myself, I always thought drinking coffee whenever I needed a pick-me up, a mid-day boost, or even a way to relax, would do the trick. However, I noticed that if my response to stress, tiredness, or just boredom was to drink coffee, that I would be drinking coffee all day! This is when I began looking into tea! I know. If you’re a fellow-coffee drinker like me, you are probably thinking “I would never switch from coffee to tea!” I’m not talking about completely switching from the coffee train to the tea train. I am talking about replacing a few cups of coffee with tea throughout the day. Certain types of tea have amazing nutritional benefits, some have caffeine if you need it, and others have less caffeine if you’re trying to lower your caffeine intake. There are so many teas out there it seemed like a daunting task of which kinds to pick. I decided to look into which kinds complement certain moods and BAM! I had the perfect recipe of teas! Tired? Stressed? Sad? Sick? There is a tea for that! Check out which teas could help your mood! Even if you're not trying to find a tea to compliment your mood, tea is a great beverage to drink simply for its nutritional benefits. High in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, tea is has a higher nutritional composition than coffee! Some benefits of drinking tea include:
